| Knoebel’s
Amusement Park in Elysburg, Pennsylvania is known
as one of America’s oldest Amusement Parks,
established in 1926. It is an amusement park with
adjoining camping facilities. The aquatic playground
was added for the 2002 season to provide a new
water based attraction for young families supplementing
the other numerous dry attractions.
The water playground has been
very successful addition to the park and has resulted
in increasing length of stay at the park especially
on hot summer days.
The water play area is approximately
2500 sq feet with a beach entry descending to
12” ( 300 mm) depth. The Splashing Rainforest
was designed as a central feature, surrounded
by interactive watertoys and spray features. Both
parents and children alike take part in the activities.
Beside
the main waterplay pool, a pop jet pad was installed
to provide a fun water pop experience for all
who participate.
