The IAAPA, or the International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions, is the largest international trade association for amusement facilities, including water parks, in the world. The annual IAAPA Attractions Expo is the billed as the “The Global Attractions Industry’s Premier Event”. The 2018 IAAPA Attractions Expo broke records for attendance and the largest trade show floor in the event’s history.

We here at Empex have been eager participants in the Attractions Expo for many years. As the biggest gathering of attractions industry professionals, we enjoy meeting old friends and making lots of new ones every year.

We have been the proud winners of numerous awards at previous Attractions Expos. These

Include the 2011 awards for Industry Innovation, Best New Product and the Impact Award.

The 2018 IAAPA Attractions Expo

The trade show is just one aspect of the IAAPA Expo. As a combined conference and trade show, the Expo Education Conference Program is made up of two interactive and informative learning opportunity categories. These are the Educational Seminar and In-Depth Learning Experiences.

Other Expo events included learning luncheons, an EDU-Tour of Orlando’s (host city) attractions in action, institutes and symposia, and trade-show floor tours.

In addition to being the largest ever, the following are among the other features of the 2018 Expo.

• There were over 42,000 registered attendees
• 15,128 people took part in at least one of the above-mentioned education experiences
• 1,151 businesses set up displays on the 600,375 sq. ft. trade show floor
• 26,600 buyers perused innovative new products, including spray park equipment
• Participants in the Expo raised about $120,000 for Give Kids the World, an 84-acre, non-profit resort in Central Florida that gives children with critical illnesses and their families cost-free vacations.
