How to Choose Water Park & Splash Pad Spray Features | Sept. 8th, 2020
September 8th, 2020
We hope that, as the COVID-19 summer of 2020 comes to a close, you managed to open this season. If so, we also hope the season was and continues to be safe and healthy for your patrons, staff and everyone else associated with your park.
As with the end of every summer season, water parks and splash pads will carry out their end-of-year maintenance checklists and closing procedures. But, with the uncertainty that COVID brings, this year’s closing will be done with concern for what the future holds.
Of course, with restricted seasons, or no season at all, budgets are an issue. However, if your facility’s spray park equipment is older, or close to the end of its lifecycle, maintaining it may be more expensive than replacing it. And who knows what the effect is on your attendance figures due to outdated equipment.
3 Tips for Choosing Spray Park & Splash Pad Equipment
If your water park equipment is ready for replacement, now is the best time to start planning for it. Here are a few things to look for in your new equipment.
Low Maintenance
Yes, operating budgets are being squeezed. Spray park equipment that requires minimal maintenance, including fewer moving parts, will boost the bottom line throughout its lifecycle.
Integral Interactivity
Integral interactivity means more than just an interactive element to the spray feature. Children enjoy spray park equipment in ways that it was designed for, and in ways for which it wasn’t designed. In other words, what happens when they block one nozzle with their hand? Hopefully, it increases the water coming from all the other nozzles!
Simple & Modular Designs
You only need to replace certain water features. You don’t need an entirely new theme for all your spray equipment. Look for simple designs, that are colorful and fun, but that fit into your current theme, or lack of one.
